Oncology Massage
“The act of massage unites
heaven and earth,
spirit and matter,
divine and mundane.”
— Gayle MacDonald, Medicine Hands
Why Oncology Massage
A cancer diagnosis changes everything. In the midst of treatments, appointments, and uncertainty, oncology massage offers a space of comfort, grounding, and gentle care.
This approach is not about fixing, but about supporting quality of life in the moment—helping with relaxation, sleep, and immune function, while easing symptoms such as anxiety, pain, fatigue, and nausea.
My Approach
Each oncology massage session is highly individualized, meeting you exactly where you are that day. Whether you are newly diagnosed, in active treatment, living with a compromised immune system, or in survivorship or end-of-life care, I adapt the session to your unique needs with compassion and skill.
My touch is always gentle, safe, and nurturing—focused on creating a sense of ease and presence in your body.
Training & Safety
I have completed Oncology Massage Global Module 1 with the Society for Oncology Massage (S4OM). This specialized training prepares me to:
Work safely with those undergoing surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.
Adapt for medical devices or fragile health conditions.
Support those who are immune-compromised or medically vulnerable.
Recognize indicators that may require medical referral.
Your safety is always my first priority.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is oncology massage safe during treatment?
Yes—when adapted appropriately. With specialized training, I modify pressure, positioning, and techniques to safely support those receiving treatment.
What does an oncology massage feel like?
Gentle, nurturing, and comforting. The focus is on relaxation, reducing stress, and creating a sense of ease in your body.
Do I need to get approval from my doctor?
In many cases, yes. I encourage you to consult your care team before beginning massage, especially if you are currently undergoing treatment.
How long is a session?
